Disabled Toilet Alarm

Disabled Persons Toilet Alarm

Designed to provide a reliable and easy to use method of calling for assistance

Recent guidelines require that all disabled toilet installations must have a fixed method of communication, and the Disabled Persons Toilet Alarm provides a compliant, cost effective solution.

The system comes in a kit format and contain all components required for a complete system including a self adhesive disabled WC door sign and full installation and operation instructions. When assistance is required, a ceiling pull cord located within easy reach of the toilet is operated activating the alarm unit and alerting staff.

The main components of the system include the Ceiling Pull Switch which is located above the toilet and the Alarm Controller located in a prominent position to alert staff if a call is generated. Also included is a Reset Point for location within the toilet area and an Overdoor Light with Sounder, which is generally located outside the toilet, above the door to draw attention to the fact that assistance is required.

Alarm controller

The Alarm Controller forms the heart of the Disabled Toilet Alarm system and is a complete power supply and alarm unit in one. The unit should be located where it will attract staff attention in the event of a call. When a call is generated, the high visibility LED and integral sounder operate to alert staff. The unit also features a reset button to cancel the call, however this can be disabled when the unit is not local to the toilet. The integral backup battery provides continued operation in the event of a mains supply failure and the battery condition is monitored to alert staff when a replacement is required. The Alarm Controller unit is available with a relay output providing normally open and normally closed contact set for integration into security or paging systems.

Ceiling pull switch

The ceiling pull switch is located within the toilet area, accessible to the user, generally located above the toilet. The unit comprises 3 metre cord (which may be altered to suit ceiling height) terminated with a easy to operate “G” loop. When assistance is required the loop is gently pulled to activate the alarm. The unit also features integral reassurance LED to confirm a call has been generated and help is on the way. This unit is supplied as a self contained surface mounting enclosure.Ceiling pull switch The ceiling pull switch is located within the toilet area, accessible to the user, generally located above the toilet.
