Emfit Epileptic Seizure Alarm is a state-of-the-art bed monitoring system, which monitors a sleeping person with epilepsy. It is the first alarm that detects both the person's convulsive seizures which occur in bed and the person's bed-exit with the same sensor.
New, patented sensor technology detects all of a person's movements while distinguishing normal movements from epileptic seizures. Emfit Epileptic Seizure Alarm also notices the presence and absence of a person. It alarms when the person is experiencing the convulsion phase of a seizure in progress and when the person leaves the bed and does not return within a preset time.
Emfit Epileptic Seizure Alarm has an audible alarm with adjustable volume and relay output for connection to an existing nurse call system.
Based on Unique Technology
Emfit Epileptic Seizure Alarm consists of an under mattress mounted bed sensor and control unit. It detects the slightest movements of a person lying on bed - even heartbeat and respiration! The Emfit bed sensor does not have weight limits and is sensitive enough for the small children. There is no embedded wires or switches to fail. A connecting wire is attached from the sensor to the control unit. The control unit can be placed next to the bed or on the wall using the included fastening bracket.
Bed seizure alarm
When movement on the bed differs from normal movements, Epileptic Seizure Alarm detects the convulsion phase of epileptic seizure. The sensor also detects hyperventilation and partial convulsions as seizures. The alarm triggers if the abnormal movement continues longer than the preset delay. The delay can be set to 7, 13 or 20 seconds.
Bed-exit alarm
Epileptic Seizure Alarm triggers the alarm if the person leaves the bed and doesn't return to the bed within the preset delay. The alarm delay is set manually with a rotational switch between 10 seconds and 90 minutes. The longest delays are for independent persons with epilepsy. If the user is able to use Epileptic Seizure Alarm, the device can be de-activated when leaving the bed and the bed-exit alarm will not trigger.
