Emfit SafeSeat, Seat Exit Alarm for Fall Prevention

SafeSeat is a new generation seat-exit alarm designed to prevent falls during daytime absent restraints. SafeSeat is ideal for dementia facilities and other nursing homes where the person is unable to ask for help.

SafeSeat generates an audible alarm when an individual at high risk of falling stands up from the seat. The nurse hears the alarm and is able to attend to assist the person. SafeSeat is most suitable for caring situations, where help is close-by.

SafeSeat Notices Presence by Detecting Vital Functions

SafeSeat consists of a chair mounted sensor* and a control unit. The seat sensor is placed under the chair pad/pillow. The sensor monitors an individual's presence by detecting the slightest movements of whose sitting on it - including even their heartbeat and respiration! When the sensor doesn't sense vital functions or movement, SafeSeat alarms.

The sensor does not have any embedded wires or switches, so it is highly durable. The rechargeable battery-powered control unit is placed on the backrest of the chair or wheelchair using the hook provided. The user can easily adjust the volume of the alarm using the volume control.

SafeSeat Helps Relative Caregiver Also at Nighttime

SafeSeat can also be used with floor sensor for nighttime bed or door monitoring. With the floor sensor, SafeSeat alarms when a person is attempting to leave the bed or exit the door. The thin and unnoticeable floor sensor can be covered with a carpet if preferred. The the floor sensor allows the system to detect a touch of feet and alarms immediately. The sound alarm of SafeSeat is sufficient to operate as an alarm clock for relative caregivers.
