TeleAlarm NurseCall

Reliable support for nursing homes and hospitals

The NurseCall system from TeleAlarm helps to provide the best possible care and support in retirement and nursing homes, and other assisted facilities. Residents can alert the nurse or caregiver via an emergency button or remote control.

The major benefit of NurseCall from TeleAlarm is that it reduces burdens on nursing staff – thus significantly reducing the need for personnel. A call forwarding system is easy to integrate. This lets staff roam freely and use their wireless handsets to make internal calls. If a patient triggers an alarm, the display immediately shows where to find them.

People with dementia can wear a special transmitter and move about freely while enjoying maximum security. If the person wanders past a defined perimeter, a signal is automatically sent to the nurse on duty.

The wireless NurseCall system is extremely simple and straightforward to install in a minimum of time. This is an advantage both in new facilities and when modernizing or extending existing call systems. The wireless NurseCall system offers an excellent solution for care and organization in homes for elderly people or hospitals. It can be installed in new or existing building thanks to its system of radio transmission. Multiple transmitters can be managed by the NurseCall system.

How It Works:

The heart of TeleAlarm NurseCall is its tested wireless technology - all calls for help are transmitted on radio frequencies safe for use with medical equipment, eliminating complicated wiring and making the system simple to set up.

A single NurseCall Main Unit monitors up to 500 transmitters within a 30-40 metre radius. For more coverage, you can wire as many as 16 additional Relay units, each adding the same range of radio reception.

In an emergency, a patient presses the single button on their S37 or S35 personal transmitter or via the N46 Wall Transmitter's red button, triggering an alarm at the NurseCall Main Unit.

The location of the call then shows up on the unit's display panel informing nursing staff where they should attend.

Multiple calls are displayed in the order they come in. By pressing a button on the NurseCall Main Unit, you can review all calls received. Up to 38 calls can be stored in the NurseCall Main Unit, and when it is interfaced to a computer, an unlimited number of calls can be stored for long-term review and reporting using the TASW software.

Alphanumeric pagers and/or LCD screens can receive and display active calls so the system can be customised to suit your own needs.

TeleAlarm NurseCall with Dementia Function

Although many elderly residents in nursing homes, hospitals and clinics are still quite agile physically, their mental state is frequently so confused that they forget where they are. Once these patients become disoriented, they are prone to wander. For instance, they may leave the premises unnoticed and expose themselves to dangerous situations such as road traffic or environmental hazards.

Understandably, relatives and nursing staff alike become particularly anxious about the safety of the affected nursing home residents and patients. Moreover, adequate supervision and care ultimately requires more nursing staff.

The wireless dementia system is designed to effectively relieve the strain on the nursing staff by guaranteeing optimal round-the-clock geriatric care. Each resident/patient at risk receives a watertight wrist transmitter. This device features both a miniature radio transmitter and receiver as well as a safety wristband which cannot be opened by the resident/patient. In addition, special aerials can be installed on door frames and along corridors, which function as boundary indicators. These allow you to control the locations where a resident is permitted to go and be notified when they wander into an unauthorised area or through an exit door.

If a patient suffering from dementia leaves the designated safe area, the indicators send a signal which is routed via the wrist transmitter directly to the NurseCall main unit. The main unit display indicates the time, location and identification of the signal and can pass the alarm to optional DECT telephones or to a paging system.

Patients suffering from dementia can still enjoy complete freedom of movement. In addition, the wireless technology means minimum installation effort. Because of this, the dementia alarm system is ideal for upgrading existing buildings.
