What is VAT relief?
If you’re disabled or have a long-term illness, you may not need to pay VAT on the products we supply, providing they are for your own personal or domestic use.
Examples of qualifying products include:
■ adjustable and profiling beds
■ pressure relief mattresses and cushions
■ hoists and movers
■ commodes
■ hearing impaired telephones
■ epilepsy seizure monitors

Who qualifies for VAT relief?
You are eligible for VAT relief if you’re chronically sick or disabled and the goods are for your personal or domestic use. For VAT purposes, you’re disabled or have a long-term illness if:
■ you have a physical or mental impairment that affects your ability to carry out everyday activities, for example blindness
■ you have a condition that’s treated as chronic sickness, like diabetes or epilepsy
■ you’re terminally ill
You do not qualify if you’re elderly but not disabled, or if you’re only temporarily disabled.
How do I apply?
To apply for VAT relief on an order you have already placed with us, or are due to place with us in the future, you may complete the following declaration. This will send us all of the information we require to refund the VAT amount back to you and you won't need to do anything else.
